Generally California is known for its "Golden Hills" Sometimes the winter rains bring on some green and this winter has been one of them - Everything looks so fresh and green and in bloom, but its been a few weeks since the last rain and there are brown spots showing up already. Last year the hills were golden all year. Our second year in California there were record setting rains and every where was green, even death valley had a spring bloom. (Set CA up for a huge fire season the next 2 years - all that new growth gone brown and little to no rain) A liittle rain is forecast for this weekend, maybe our creek will flow again. Oh yeah the picture is from Hendry's beach - a path leading up to a very nice home. At least it is probably very nice, we couldn't see it from the beach.

Green hills of California
